Our
curriculum underwent major changes during 2002:
Biology
Degree Programs - NEW Curriculum
Please
select from one of the following four Biology program options for
detailed program requirements:
- The
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree
is designed for students who wish to pursue graduate professional
degrees in biology or in the health professions. Because of its
professional emphasis, students are encouraged to concentrate
their studies in one of two major areas: A) cell and molecular
biology, or B) ecology and evolution. Students must complete two
Core courses in one of these areas. They select upper-division
courses and laboratories in their Core area of concentration through
consultations with their advisor.
- The
Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree
is designed for students who wish to pursue science related careers
outside biology and for whom some background in science may be
useful, such as science journalism, business, or law.
- A
Minor in Biology is designed
for students who wish to augment other majors such as psychology,
engineering, chemistry, or illustration with a biological component.
