Tanya's primary interest is in grassland ecology, conservation biology, and rangeland management. She is currently researching in the relationship between vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizae and grassland plants. Through field and lab experiments, she is examining the influence of mycorrhizal symbiosis on plant response to herbivory.
My current research interests focus on plant carbon (C) allocation in grassland communities in Yellowstone National Park. Specifically, I am interested in belowground C partitioning between fine root biomass and root metabolism and the environmental factors than control these patterns..
