hours) is designed for students who wish to pursue science related
careers outside biology and for whom some background in science
may be useful, such as science journalism, business, or law.
Students
in this program must complete the following course work. The courses
in chemistry, physics and mathematics satisfy part of the standard
course work needed for admission to graduate and health professions
schools.

These
can include BIO 360 (Biology Laboratory Assistant) or any
400 or higher level Biology Department courses. However,
in any combination for BIO 360 (Biology Laboratory Assistant),
BIO 419 (Biology Honors Seminar), BIO 460 (Research in Biology),
and BIO 499 (Biology Honors Thesis), a maximum of four credit
hours can be applied toward the B.A. degree credit hour
requirement.
By
approval from petition to the Biology Department, a maximum
of six hours of 300 to 600 level courses from other departments
(e.g., Bioengineering
& Neuroscience, Chemistry,
Physics, Math,
